Where Can I Order More Decks?
almost 6 years ago – Mon, May 21, 2018 at 09:11:20 PM

Quite a few of you have asked where to order additional Jane Austen decks and other merchandise, or have friends who'd like to order. This link, Jane Austen Playing Card Orders, will take you to my Backerkit store. The page will call these orders "Pre-Orders" but since the products area all produced, they'll get shipped quickly. Please feel free to share it with anyone you know! Thanks.

Clarification of the Order of Cards in the Deck.
almost 6 years ago – Sat, May 19, 2018 at 09:31:48 PM

When you receive your decks, you will find that the order of the cards appears jumbled. Please know that the deck order in the tuck case is a natural outcome of the layout of the uncut sheet. I knew the order of the deck would be unusual, but if you look through other past, successful card projects on Kickstarter, you will see that a number of other designers have made the same choice so their uncut sheets would layout in a particular way. The layout of the uncut sheet determines the order of cards in the tuck case. I assure you that all of the cards are included in each deck but you can check to make sure if it makes you feel better.  : )

With a single exception, all of the responses I have heard about the delivered cards so far have been glowing. But one backer expressed unhappy surprise regarding the variety in the backgrounds on the cards. The decision to choose scans of actual blank page from publications dating from 1806-1817 for the backgrounds was intended to create an authentic feeling — in this case, that of a circa 200-year-old publication. (The historical typography was chosen and reproduced with the exact same care and precision.) Further, the cards as shown on the original Kickstarter campaign page detail exactly that variance in backgrounds. I am very pleased with the end result and I hope you are, too.

Cards Are Arriving in Mail Boxes!
almost 6 years ago – Fri, May 18, 2018 at 11:39:55 PM

I heard today from a very happy backer who received his cards in the mail. I still have not seen them completed myself, but the reports are really good so far. I hope, when you receive them, you will all like your cards and other the Jane Austen pieces. According to my BackerKit website, it still shows 13 orders as "ready to ship" but I understand that these were supposed to ship today. I hope so.

All Packages to Ship Tomorrow
almost 6 years ago – Tue, May 15, 2018 at 12:24:55 AM

Good news to share. I just heard back from Art of Play minutes ago after asking for an update last Thursday. All packages will ship tomorrow, May 15. I have asked how long shipments should take both in US and abroad, I'll let you know when I hear back.

Final Ship Date
almost 6 years ago – Fri, May 04, 2018 at 02:04:20 AM

Good morning all.

I spoke to Art of Play yesterday. They had initially said they could get the order shipped by the end of this week but they told me yesterday they have to push that date by a week. They promised me that all the orders will drop ship on Thursday, May 10.

Believe me, I am very disappointed in this delay but it is out of my hands and in the hands of a top-notch organization with a great reputation. We'll all have to wait with bated breath for a one more week. I have not see the physical tuck cases assembled but they are due from the gluers to Art of Play today. They have all the swag. It'll be worth the wait.

But I am sorry for the one-week delay.
