Add Ons and Shipping Costs

Good evening. Thank you for responding so quickly to the BackerKit survey. In under 24 hours, we are just a little more than half way there.
There was an issue with postage added when Kickstarter backers tried to include an add on purchase. The shipping was set with new (non-backers) in mind, but I hadn't realized that this was a great disadvantage for those of you who backed the original campaign. As they say in Texas, "Dance with the one that brung ya." Miss Austen may be cringing at that, but she'd understand the sentiment, certainly.
I have lowered the postage to make it better for my original backers. If you passed on making an addition based on postage, please go back and take a look. I have not locked down your surveys so you can still make additions if you like.

I am working with Backerkit and they finally approved the surveys and site. I just sent what they call a Smoke Test. Surveys went out to 10% of the backers as a test. The rest should follow soon. Great news.

Screen Savers ready for download

The Jane Austen screen savers are ready for you to download at this website. If the pixel dimension you need is not listed, please send me an e-mail with those dimensions. I will make and upload that for you (and anyone else who might need that same size. I made the most common sizes, but also know that there are all kinds of screen sizes out there!
I am also glad to report that while our home move is slowly unwinding, the project is back on track. I expect that the surveys will go out on Monday once Backerkit reviews the site. The delivery date may be pushed back two weeks (second week in November instead of last week in October) but I will confirm that as I learn more for the various manufactures.
Living in Boxes

Dear Jane Austen Backers,
I wanted to give you all an update about where we are in production for the playing cards. Since I last posted, my wife and I have sold our house that had been on the market since late May, packed the entire place, and, as of yesterday, moved to a new home in another city about 30 miles up the road. And, since I am not Mr. Bingley, and I have no servants to open Netherfield for me, everything is in boxes—computer and power cords included! Further, we cannot get internet service in the house for two weeks, but there are coffee houses for wifi. The timing for this move is unfortunate but unavoidable. (It will, however, save me about 40 hours a month in commuting, so that is great news.) This move should not affect the delivery date of the cards in the end, but it will delay the sharing of the screen savers and sending out final surveys. I will send both of those as soon as we get a little settled (and I find my computer and power cords)!

Jane Austen Screensaver Coming Soon

Good morning all, I am finalizing the Jane Austen Screensaver at different pixel dimensions. These will be available at the beginning of September once I receive the final Backer list from Kickstarter, so please be patient. (Easy for me to say since I already have the screensaver on my desktop!)
